Audition for the Orchestra

Auditions for the 2009-2010 season will be held in September 2009 for 2 rotating Horn positions, all string sections and for wind, brass and percussion substitutes. All open positions are non-compensated, volunteer positions.

Please prepare two solo works of contrasting styles (or two contrasting movements of the same solo work). Woodwind and brass players should also prepare several standard orchestral excerpts of their choice. In addition, candidates on all instruments will be asked to play an excerpt from the standard repertoire which they will receive upon arrival at the audition venue.

Please contact Brenton Benfield, personnel manager, for more information. You may call our office at 301-446-3245 or e-mail pgphilharmonic@gmail.com. You can also set-up an audition online at our website via the audition form.
