Prince George’s Philharmonic announces auditions for the 2011-2012 season

General Auditions will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2011, from 7:00pm until 10:00pm at Northwestern High School for all strings, 1 rotating horn positions (some principal) and for substitutes for wind, brass and percussion. All open positions are non-compensated, volunteer positions.

Please prepare two solo works of contrasting styles (or two contrasting movements of the same solo work). Woodwind and brass players should also prepare several standard orchestral excerpts of their choice. In addition, candidates on all instruments will be asked to play an excerpt from the standard repertoire which they will receive upon arrival at the audition venue.

Prince George's Philharmonic is a community orchestra which performs five concerts each season, at various venues in Prince George's County Maryland. We rehearse September through November and January through May on Wednesday evenings from 7:30pm until 10:00pm.
